Design and build
Honor has kept the design of previous MagicBook Pro and Art models: an all-metal unibody with a pearlescent finish and a gently tapered base. At about 1.39kg it is heavier than the MagicBook Art (just over 1kg), but still lighter than a 14-inch MacBook Pro or 15-inch MacBook Air, which weigh around 1.5kg.
Port selection is a strength. You get HDMI 2.1, two USB-C ports (one Thunderbolt 4) and a headphone jack on the left, plus two USB-A ports on the right. The downside is that you can only charge from the left side, and there is no Thunderbolt 5.
Display
The 14.6-inch OLED panel is the highlight. Its 3:2 shape is taller than a typical 16:9 or 16:10 laptop screen, so you see more of a web page or document at once, and it suits photo editing. It covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and offers 13 colour presets in Honor’s PC Manager app, including P3 and sRGB modes for photo work and web design.
GSMArena measured around 500 nits in normal use and close to 800 nits with HDR content. The anti-reflective coating works well, though its slightly wavy surface is noticeable at an angle. One limitation is that the refresh rate is fixed at either 60Hz or 120Hz rather than adjusting dynamically.
Keyboard, trackpad and audio
The backlit keyboard has 1.5mm of key travel and comfortable feedback. The large glass trackpad is a solid-state haptic design, so it clicks equally well anywhere on its surface, and you can adjust its sensitivity and vibration strength. Two downward-firing speakers are loud and clear but, like most laptops, light on bass. The 1080p webcam is average.
Performance
The MagicBook Pro 14 uses Intel’s Panther Lake chips, launched at CES 2026 and built on Intel’s 18A process. The tested Core Ultra 5 338H has 12 cores and was paired with 32GB of fast LPDDR5x memory.
| Benchmark (GSMArena) | Score |
|---|---|
| Geekbench 6 CPU single / multi-core | 2,782 / 14,220 |
| Geekbench 6 GPU (OpenCL) | 48,376 |
| Cinebench 2026 single / multi-core | 462 / 3,795 |
| PassMark overall | 8,693 |
In practice, that places it among very fast ultrabooks: smooth Lightroom and Photoshop editing, reasonable 4K video editing and light 3D work. The integrated graphics can handle some AAA games at low to medium settings, but it is not a gaming laptop. For that, see our gaming laptop buying guide. On-device AI performance is mid-tier.
Sustained performance is excellent. In GSMArena’s two-hour stress test on mains power, the chip settled at about 3.5GHz (around 55W) and 90°C, with fans at about 55dB, while the keyboard and palm rests stayed cool.
Battery life
With the screen at 250 nits and 60Hz, GSMArena recorded 10 hours 27 minutes of web browsing and 13 hours 50 minutes of YouTube streaming. A full charge from 0 to 100% took about 70 minutes with the 100W charger.
Price and availability
Availability is the main drawback. At launch, the 2026 model was sold in the Middle East, China and France, while many other Honor stores still listed the 2025 model. Reported prices were about AED 4,299 in the UAE, around CNY 8,199 in China and about €1,300 in France.
Pros and cons
- ✅ Sharp, colour-accurate 3:2 OLED touchscreen
- ✅ Powerful and efficient Panther Lake processor with excellent sustained performance
- ✅ Long battery life from a 92Wh battery
- ✅ Good port selection including HDMI and USB-A
- ❌ Limited availability
- ❌ No Thunderbolt 5 or dynamic refresh rate
- ❌ Charging only from the left side
Verdict
The Honor MagicBook Pro 14 (2026) is an excellent all-round laptop for office work, studying and creative tasks, with a great screen, strong performance and long battery life. If you can find it in your country, it is a strong alternative to the Surface Laptop 8 and similar premium Windows laptops.
