Design and build

The phone measures 168 x 77.5 x 8.6mm and weighs 199g. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor handles unlocking. The large size suits people who mainly watch videos and browse social media.

Display

The 6.75-inch IPS LCD screen has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate. Brightness is listed at 450 nits, which is fine indoors but can be hard to read in strong sunlight.

Performance and software

The Unisoc T7250 is a 12nm entry-level chip. It is suitable for calls, WhatsApp, social media and light games. The generous 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage are its best features, as they are rare at this price. You can add a microSD card, but it shares the slot with the second SIM. The phone runs Android 15.

Cameras

The rear camera uses a 16MP sensor with autofocus and a dual-LED flash. It records 1080p video at 30fps. The 8MP front camera records 720p video and works for basic video calls. Photos are best in good daylight.

Battery and charging

A 6250mAh battery gives long battery life, often more than a day for light users. The downside is very slow 10W charging, so a full charge can take several hours. Charging overnight is the best approach.

Connectivity

This is a 4G phone without 5G. It has dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C and NFC, which is useful for contactless payments in supported regions. There is no headphone jack.

Tips for new owners

Charge overnight because of the slow 10W charging. Use the 256GB storage freely, and keep the second SIM slot free if you want to add a microSD card later. Remove unused apps to keep the phone responsive. Lower screen brightness indoors to save battery. Keep Android updated for security fixes, and use a case with good grip.

What to check before you buy

Before buying, confirm that 4G works on your network, since there is no 5G. Check that NFC payments work with your bank if you plan to use them. Test the screen brightness outdoors if you spend lots of time outside. Make sure the IMEI matches the box and ask about the warranty. Keep your receipt.

How it compares

Compared with the ZTE Blade V80 Design, which also has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the Doogee offers a bigger battery and NFC. The ZTE has a sharper 120Hz screen, faster charging, a headphone jack and a better selfie camera. Choose Doogee for battery size and NFC, and ZTE for screen and charging speed.

Should you buy the Doogee Note 58 Pro?

This phone is a budget phone with generous memory, a large battery and NFC. Its slow charging and basic screen are the main compromises. It is a good fit for students, delivery riders and older relatives who need a big battery and plenty of storage, but not fast performance. If you can charge it overnight every day, the slow charging matters much less.
