Design and build
The Pro Max is a large phone at 163.39mm tall and 77.6mm wide, yet it stays slim at about 8.4mm. The fibreglass versions in Black, White and Ice Peach Pink weigh 235g, while the glass Galaxy Blue and Transparent editions weigh 240g. Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass 3.0 protects the front. Beside the cameras sits a 2.9-inch AI rear screen, which is larger than the one on the Xiaomi 18 Pro.
Display
The main display is a 6.9-inch AMOLED panel at 2624 x 1208 with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling. Xiaomi quotes up to 4,000 nits peak brightness and a 1-nit minimum, plus Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HDR Vivid support. A hardware privacy screen hides content from people next to you. The 2.9-inch rear AMOLED screen runs at 976 x 596 and shows widgets, notifications and a live selfie preview.
Performance and software
The Pro Max uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, the top version of Qualcomm’s 2nm flagship chip. Its fourth-generation Oryon CPU runs at up to 5GHz, with an Adreno GPU and the Qualcomm AI Engine. Memory options are 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. It runs Xiaomi HyperOS 4. This is one of the most powerful phones you can buy in 2026.
Cameras
Xiaomi pairs a 200MP Leica main camera, using the 1/1.28-inch Light Hunter 960L sensor with an f/1.67 aperture and OIS, with a 200MP periscope telephoto. The telephoto has a 1/1.56-inch sensor, 3.2x optical zoom, OIS and 12cm telephoto macro. A 50MP ultrawide covers 102° and focuses at 5cm. Video goes up to 8K at 30fps and 4K at 120fps. The 50MP front camera records 4K at 60fps.
Battery and charging
The 8,500mAh battery, with a rated minimum of 8,350mAh, is one of the largest in any flagship. It charges at up to 100W wired and 50W wireless. The phone can also power other devices through 27W reverse wired charging and reverse wireless charging. For heavy users, this battery should comfortably last more than a full day.
Connectivity
You get dual Nano-SIM 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC, an infrared remote and USB 3.2 Gen 1. Navigation supports BeiDou, GPS L1 and L5, Galileo, GLONASS, QZSS and NavIC. A 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor sits under the display. Audio is a step up from the 18 Pro, with triple speakers that are Hi-Res Audio certified and support Dolby Atmos.
Tips for new owners
Use the 2.9-inch rear screen to take high-quality selfies with the 200MP main camera. Try 8K video only when you need it, because the files are very large. Turn on the privacy screen for banking and messaging in public places. Keep a 100W Xiaomi charger at home to get the fastest top-ups. Finally, install HyperOS updates as they arrive for camera and performance improvements.
What to check before you buy
