Design and build

Despite its large battery, the Honor X8d is slim at 7.5mm and light at 188g. It measures 162.9 x 76.3mm. The front is glass, while the frame and back are plastic, which helps keep weight and cost down. It carries an IP65 rating, so it can handle dust and water splashes. Colours include Black, Gray and Blue.

Display

The 6.77-inch AMOLED screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2392 pixels. It refreshes at up to 120Hz, so scrolling feels smooth. AMOLED panels show deep blacks and rich colours, which is a real advantage in this price range.

Performance and software

The phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 processor with eight cores clocked at up to 2.9GHz. It comes with 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. A microSD slot lets you add more space. Performance is fine for social media, WhatsApp, streaming and light games. It runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 15.

Cameras

The main camera uses a 108MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, phase-detection autofocus and optical stabilisation. OIS is rare at this price and helps reduce blur in low light. A 5MP ultrawide camera captures wider scenes. Video recording reaches 1080p at 30fps. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera.

Battery and charging

The 7000mAh silicon-carbon battery is the headline feature. Many users will get close to two days of moderate use. Charging runs at 45W, which is reasonable for such a large battery. For more ways to stretch it further, read how to make your phone battery last longer.

Connectivity

Connectivity includes dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB-C. NFC is available in some markets. An optical in-display fingerprint sensor keeps the phone secure. There is no headphone jack. The spec sheet on this page lists the network technologies supported, so check your network before buying.

Tips for new owners

After setting up the phone, install the latest MagicOS update. Then insert a microSD card if you plan to store lots of photos and videos. Turn on the fingerprint sensor and a secure PIN. Because the battery is so large, you can usually charge every other day, but avoid letting it drop to zero often. A basic case protects the plastic back from scratches. In the camera app, use the main 108MP mode only when you need extra detail, as normal photos take up less space. Finally, check that your SIM and network work properly before relying on the phone daily.

How it compares

Compared with other budget phones, the Honor X8d stands out for its AMOLED screen, optical stabilisation and very large battery in a slim body. The trade-offs are a plastic build, basic video recording and a mid-range processor. For students and everyday users, those trade-offs are usually acceptable.

Price and availability

Budget phone prices change often and vary by seller. Check the price table on this page and compare trusted shops. Always confirm you are buying a genuine unit.
