Design and build

The phone measures 167.6 x 77.4 x 8.3mm and weighs 193g. Colours are Black and Yellow. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor provides quick, secure unlocking, which is welcome at this price.

Display

The 6.75-inch IPS LCD screen has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. A 90Hz refresh rate helps scrolling feel smoother than older budget phones. The panel is fine for WhatsApp, YouTube and browsing, but text is not as sharp as on 1080p screens.

Performance and software

The Unisoc T7200 is a 12nm entry-level chip. It handles calls, messaging, social media and simple games. Heavy apps and 3D games will feel slow. The phone has 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage, plus a dedicated microSD slot. It runs Android 15.

Cameras

The rear camera uses a 13MP sensor with autofocus, supported by auxiliary lenses and an LED flash. It records 1080p video at 30fps. The 8MP front camera is fine for video calls. Photos are best taken in good light.

Battery and charging

A 5000mAh battery gives a full day of light to moderate use. Charging runs at only 10W, so expect long charging times. Overnight charging is the most practical habit.

Connectivity

This is a 4G phone without 5G or NFC. Wi-Fi supports the 2.4GHz band (802.11 b/g/n), and Bluetooth is version 5.2. There is a USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Tips for new owners

Choose the 128GB version if available, and add a microSD card for photos and music. Remove unused apps and use lite versions such as Facebook Lite to keep the phone responsive. Charge overnight because of the slow 10W charging. Turn on dark mode and lower the refresh rate to 60Hz when you need extra battery life. Use a case and screen protector to protect the phone for longer.

What to check before you buy

Before buying, check that the IMEI on the phone matches the box. Test the touchscreen, fingerprint sensor and charging port. Confirm that 4G works on your network. Because Wi-Fi supports only the 2.4GHz band, make sure your home router offers it. Ask about the warranty and keep your receipt. If you need better performance for many apps, consider spending a little more on a phone with 6GB or 8GB of RAM.

How it compares

Compared with the Honor X5c Plus, this phone has a weaker chip, slower charging and a smaller battery, but it has a dedicated microSD slot. Both have 720p screens and headphone jacks. If you can afford it, the Honor offers better everyday speed. The ZTE is best when price is the main concern.
