Design and build

The Aquos sense 10 is small and light: 149 x 73 x 8.9mm and just 166g. It uses an aluminium frame and back with a glass front, which feels premium. It is rated IP68 and is MIL-STD-810H compliant, with drop resistance. Colours include Denim Navy, Khaki Green, Pale Pink, Pale Mint, Full Black and Light Silver. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor handles unlocking.

Display

The 6.1-inch LTPO IGZO OLED screen has a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It can refresh at up to 240Hz, which is unusually high, and the LTPO technology lowers the rate when possible to save power. Brightness reaches 1500 nits in high brightness mode and 2000 nits at peak.

Performance and software

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is a 4nm mid-range chip with an Adreno 810 GPU. It handles everyday apps, streaming and casual games well. You can choose 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage, plus a microSD card. The phone runs Android 16, with up to three major Android upgrades listed.

Cameras

Both rear cameras use 50MP sensors. The main camera has an f/1.9 aperture, dual-pixel autofocus and optical stabilisation. The 50MP ultrawide has a 122-degree view and autofocus. Both support gyro-stabilised video. The 32MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.

Battery and charging

A 5000mAh battery is large for such a compact phone, so most users will get through a full day. Charging runs at 36W wired.

Connectivity

The phone supports 5G. It has Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX Adaptive and NFC. The USB-C 3.2 port supports DisplayPort 1.4, so you can connect it to a monitor. SIM support is a nano-SIM plus eSIM. There are stereo speakers but no headphone jack.

Tips for new owners

After setup, decide whether you need the full 240Hz refresh rate, as lower settings save battery. Insert a microSD card for photos and music. Set up the eSIM if you need a second line, since there is only one physical SIM slot. Try connecting to a monitor with a USB-C cable for presentations. Keep the software updated to benefit from the upgrade promise.

What to check before you buy

Before buying, confirm that your network supports eSIM if you need two lines. Check that 5G bands match your network, as Sharp sells this phone mainly in Japan and some other markets. Make sure your unit includes Google services and English language support. Choose 8GB of RAM if you multitask a lot. Buy from a trusted seller with warranty.

How it compares

Compared with the vivo S50 Pro mini, the Aquos sense 10 is smaller and lighter, adds a microSD slot and offers a faster 240Hz screen. The vivo has a much faster chip, a bigger battery, a periscope camera and wireless charging. Choose Sharp for portability and durability, and vivo for performance.
