Design and build

The phone measures 167.3 x 77 x 8.2mm and weighs 199g. It has a glass front with a plastic frame and back. It is rated IP64 against dust and water splashes and is MIL-STD-810H compliant, although that does not guarantee it will survive extreme conditions. Colours are Majestic Green and Titanium Silver.

Display

The 6.74-inch IPS LCD screen has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. A 90Hz refresh rate keeps scrolling smooth. Brightness reaches 700 nits in high brightness mode, which is fine indoors but can struggle in direct sunlight.

Performance and software

The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 is a 6nm 5G chip that handles daily tasks, social media and streaming well. RAM options are 4GB or 6GB, with 64GB or 128GB of storage. A dedicated microSD slot lets you add storage without giving up the second SIM. The phone runs Funtouch 15 based on Android 15.

Cameras

The main camera uses a 13MP sensor with autofocus, plus an auxiliary lens. It is basic, but fine for everyday photos in good light. Video records at 1080p. The 5MP front camera works for video calls.

Battery and charging

A 6000mAh silicon-carbon battery gives long battery life, easily a full day for most users. Charging runs at only 15W, so a full charge takes a long time. Charging overnight works best.

Connectivity

The biggest advantage is 5G support, including bands n77 and n78. That means it works on Nigerian 5G networks. It also has dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack and FM radio. There is no NFC. Learn more about local networks in our guide to 5G phones in Nigeria.

Tips for new owners

Choose the 6GB and 128GB version if possible, as 64GB fills up quickly. Use the dedicated microSD slot for photos and music. Turn on 5G only when needed to save battery. Charge overnight because of the slow 15W charging. Use lite versions of apps to keep the phone responsive, and keep the software updated for security.

What to check before you buy

Before buying, pick the 6GB and 128GB version if your budget allows, since 64GB fills up quickly. Check that the IMEI matches the box and that the phone is a genuine vivo unit. Test 5G on your network, as coverage depends on your area. Insert your SIM and memory card together to confirm the dedicated slot works. Remember that 15W charging is slow, so consider charging overnight. Ask about the warranty and keep your receipt. If camera quality matters a lot, compare it with other phones in the same price range before you decide.

How it compares

Compared with 4G budget phones like the Oppo A6 4G, this phone gives you 5G and a headphone jack. However, it has a weaker camera, slower charging and a dimmer screen. Choose it if 5G access matters most.

Price and availability

This is a budget 5G phone. Prices vary by storage and seller, so check the price table on this page and buy from authorised vivo shops.
