Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra
Here are the full Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra specs from Samsung’s official spec page. The Fold8 Ultra is the biggest and most camera-focused foldable in Samsung’s 2026 range. We cover the screens, 200MP camera, battery, size, updates and more.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the most powerful foldable in Samsung’s 2026 range. It opens to a wide 8.0-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display, and its 6.5-inch cover screen is almost as large as a regular phone, so you can use it comfortably while folded.
The camera is the biggest upgrade over the standard Fold8: a 200MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, plus up to 30x digital zoom and 8K video. Samsung fits a 5000mAh battery, 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.
Despite the bigger screens, it measures just 4.1mm unfolded and weighs 215g. Like the Fold8, it gets security updates until July 2033.

Design and build
Despite its bigger screens, the Fold8 Ultra is extremely slim. Unfolded, it measures 158.4 x 143.2 x 4.1 mm. Folded, it measures 158.4 x 72.8 x 8.9 mm. It weighs 215 g. The wider shape makes the folded phone feel more like a normal phone. Violet Shadow is a Samsung.com exclusive colour, and other colours vary by market.
Display
The main display is an 8.0-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a resolution of 2504 x 2256 pixels. It refreshes at up to 120Hz. The cover screen is a 6.5-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with 2520 x 1080 pixels. That is as large as many regular phones. So you can use the Ultra comfortably while it is closed. Open it for a wide canvas that suits video, documents and split-screen apps.
Performance and software
Samsung lists the same octa-core processor as the standard Fold8, with cores at 4.74GHz and 3.6GHz. It comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. There is no memory card slot. The phone runs Android with One UI. Samsung promises security updates until July 2033. Our guide shows how to update Samsung phone software.
Cameras
The camera is where the Ultra stands out. The main camera uses a 200MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture, autofocus and optical stabilisation. It is joined by a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 10MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom. Samsung quotes up to 30x digital zoom. There are 10MP selfie cameras on both screens. Video records at up to 8K and 30fps. That makes the Ultra the best choice for photography among Samsung’s 2026 foldables.
Battery and charging
The Fold8 Ultra has a 5000mAh battery, the largest in Samsung’s 2026 foldable range. Samsung rates it for up to 27 hours of video playback. Want to know if quick charging hurts your battery? Read is fast charging bad for your battery.
Connectivity
The Ultra supports 5G sub-6GHz networks, including the n78 band. You also get Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and Ultra-Wideband. The USB Type-C port runs at USB 3.2 Gen 1 speeds. SIM options include Nano-SIM plus eSIM, or dual eSIM.
How it compares
Against the standard Fold8, the Ultra gives you bigger screens, a 200MP camera with 3x zoom and a larger 5000mAh battery. In return, it weighs 14 g more. It is also wider when folded, which makes typing on the cover screen easier. Compared with the Apple iPhone Duo, the Ultra has a larger 8.0-inch inner display and three rear cameras instead of two. The Duo has a titanium body and supports Apple Pencil. Both phones are thin, but the Ultra is the slimmer of the two when unfolded, at 4.1 mm.
Price and availability
Samsung Africa does not publish a price on the spec page. The Ultra is expected to cost more than the standard Fold8. Check your local Samsung store for official pricing.
Should you buy it?
Buy the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra if you want the best camera and the largest screens in a Samsung foldable. The 200MP camera and 3x zoom set it apart. If you prefer a lighter phone, the standard Galaxy Z Fold8 is 14 g lighter.
